Anna Misiak

MAI co-founder and editor-in-chief, Anna Misiak is a former Fulbright Scholar at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and a Leverhulme Trust Fellow (2015).  She holds a PhD in sociology from the Polish Academy of Sciences. Anna is an Associate Professor in Film & Visual Culture and MA Film & Television  & MA Prosthetic Effects Course Leader at Falmouth University. She’s authored one monograph, Kinematograf kontrolowany (2006) and contributed her research to a number of edited book collections and peer-reviewed journals. Between 2013-2016, she was an investigator on an international research project, ‘Documentary in V4 Countries’, which was supported by the Visegrad University Studies Grant. In 2015, she won the Leverhulme Trust Fellowship to develop her archive documentary study. The results of this project are available at womenundercommunism.com.
